Fight DoD Proposed TRICARE Increase
Once again our benefits are under attack and DoD is proposing a rate increase in Tricare.

TRICARE UPDATE
Recently the Obama Administration announced that there would be no TRICARE increases sought by his administration. AFSA's has long opposed any increases for retiree TRICARE benefits and the voice of the enlisted corps was heard by this administration.

Once again our benefits are under attack and DoD is proposing a rate increase in Tricare.
It is time to get on-board and start a grass roots blitz to your elected officials and starting flooding the switchboard at the Capitol. The toll free number for the Capitol Hill operator is 1-888-762-8760 and then they simply ask for their Representative or Senator.
Don’t know who your elected officials on Capitol Hill are? Then go to www.thomas.gov and look up your respective Representative and Senator for your state. While you are there you can obtain additional information on HR 816: To amend Title 10, United States Code, to prohibit certain increases in fees for military health care. I’ve attached a brief synopsis of the bill for review.
The Diplomatic approach to eliciting co-sponsorship on HR816 is an “afsalutely” must again for our total force again inclusive of officers, enlisted and families alike. Emails are another super source of getting their attention. Letters are great but with their anthrax screening, it takes forever to get to them.
Calls to Congressional members at their local office in each town are passed onto their DC office so that’s another source to fully use by our membership. It’s time to ramp this up; we need to get the word out to all our members, friends, co-workers, and families. We need to put a stop to this issue and let them know how we feel.
Moreover, a call to each Senator is also important even though, the Bill is only in the House at the moment you need to let them know your stance.
